REFLECTIONS OF LIFE

for

DaMon DuShun "Duke" Luster

DaMon, referred to by family and friends as "Duke", was the second-born son to the parentage of Herman Luster and Beverly Diane Luster on December 23, 1975.

He accepted Christ at an early age at True Lee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert L. Parish, Sr.  Later, he and Angela joined the Freedom Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of  Rev. Dr. Mack T. Flemmings, Sr., where he was a faithful member of the Men's Ministry and the Male Chorus.  To worship with family, they returned to True Lee Missionary Baptist Church, where he worshiped in the Male Chorus, the Laymen's Ministry and was ordained as a Deacon in August of 2023.  He felt a personal responsibility to maintain the safety of the congregation, often perusing and checking entrances and the perimeter during service.  DaMon loved the Lord and is now in His presence.

He received his formal education in the Dallas Independent School District, graduating from Skyline High School with the Class of 1994.  DaMon went on to study for his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at Navarro College.  As a trusted employee, he worked in private security and most recently served as a Security Officer for the Dallas County Tax Office and Lewisville Municipal Courts.

On July 24, 2010, he married the love of his life, Angela Allen.  They did everything as a couple, including traveling, attending Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers games, watching movies and worshiping the Lord.  He has been instrumental in the care of his in-laws and his presence will be truly missed.

DaMon was a devoted member of the King Solomon Masonic Lodge #514 and was instrumental in recruiting younger members to join the brotherhood.

Amongst his close-knit family circle, DaMon was also known to be the protector.  He was extremely proud of his only child, Desiree, serving as her confidant and advisor.  For family gatherings, he brought energy that exuded a good time for all.  DaMon and his brother, Desmond, enjoyed an extremely close relationship growing up and he took on his role as an uncle very seriously, continuing to support his niece and nephew post the passing of his brother.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Desmond Luster, Sr.; grandmothers, Corine Leonard and Ethel Luster, Aunt Anita Cubie; uncles, Lemuel Brooks, James Swanson, Robert Earl Luster (Mary) and Raymond Paul Luster; and cousins, Roslyn Barron and Kameshia Barron Daniels.

DaMon leaves to cherish his memory; his devoted wife of 13 years, Angela Luster; his daughter, Desiree Luster; his parents, Beverly Diane Luster Brown and Herman Luster; parents in law; Robert and Katie Allen; sister-in-law, Cassandra Luster; niece, D'andra Luster; nephew, Desmond Luster, Jr.; and a host of uncles, aunts and other relatives.
