He earned an accounting degree from Wiley College and later went to Phillips Business College in Dallas, TX. He retired from Dallas Handbag Company after fifteen years plus in the shipping and receiving department.
Zelma Lewis was very active in civil rights movement in Dallas, TX in the 1960's by participating in numerous marches and protests. He also, worked diligently with poll taxes; he was a member or the American Legion.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 3-7PM at Evergreen.
The funeral service will commence on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 11:00 AM at Cedar Crest Cathedral CME Church, 1616 E. Illinois Ave., Dallas, Texas.
