Willie Mae Simpson affectionately known as (Bad) by close family members was born on December 31, 1945 to C.T. and Dora Moore. She was the youngest of their 10 children. Her brothers Frank, Joe, Curtis, James, and Jim all deceased, her brother Oliver lives in Houston. Her sisters are Ruthie and Dorothy are both deceased. Her sister Flora Mae lives in Houston. Likewise, she graduated at Gibsland-Coleman High School in 1964. She lived most of her life in Gibsland and Arcadia Louisiana.

She married Joe Leland Simpson on January 4, 1965. They have 4 children, Joe Jr. (Lil Joe) Michael (Patricia), Wanda (Ed), and Brian (Lue). They have 6 grandchildren, Shanetria (Terry), Kamario, Sherry, and Kendall all in Dallas; Claudia Kai in Homer, Louisiana; Joe III deceased. They have 2 great-grand children Payden and Jay III. She was a strong mother who cared for her children and grandchildren. On January 4, 2015 Willie Mae and Joe celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary along with many of her family and close friends. Willie Mae had a large group of nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends who she loved dearly.

As a hard worker she was employed by a number of well-known companies near where she lived for many years. For an extended period of time she also served as a health care aid, working in nursing homes and with private patients. She was loved for her great personality and mild manner in dealing with older ones. Willie Mae along with Joe was baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses in 1975 in Alexandra, Louisiana as members of the Arcadia Congregation. Her Bible teacher and longtime friend said "we told her the hope and she knew it". In 2002, they moved to Mesquite Texas as part of the Pleasant Grove Congregation.

Being raised in a small area she loved the country and its simple way of life. Quite often in her kitchen and throughout her home she decorated it to remind her of her roots. Although she considered herself a country girl she was able to see and do much during her life. She attended large Christian events that showed she loved people. On another occasion, this country girl left the United States to vacation in Canada where she really enjoyed the sites of different surroundings along with her husband.

She was also an intellectual woman who kept up with the times. She could easily move around on a computer and take care of financial matters, entertain herself with different news worthy searches, and most of all shopping. She likewise enjoyed reading and listening to the Bible on her IPAD. She indeed had a rich full life.
