Willie Joe McClure was born June 16, 1944 to the parents of Herman C. McClure and Mattie Templeton McClure. Willie was the oldest of three children. Willie was educated in Kilgore school system at west Point Elementary and north Chapel high school. After graduation he attended Texas College and Jarvis Christian College until he was drafted in the military. Willie served two years in the U.S. Army where he began his postal career. Upon his return to Dallas he worked for the U.S. Post Office and retired in 2002 after 35 years of faithful service. His famous quote after retiring when asked what you do every day his reply, "I'm Retired".
Willie was preceded in death by his father, mother and Sisters Norma Ruth Hanson and Patsy Moore.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife Dorothy, loving daughter Kim (Noel) McClure-Mathews, stepson Lawerence Manning, brother Willie (Mary) Moore, aunt Dorothy Lewis, nieces Shwanda (Lance) Bausley, Angela Iheasimua, nephews Jesse (Denise) Hanson Jr. Darin Hanson and Jason Moore, 4 great nephews Donovan & Cameron Bausley, Rodney Horton & Alexander Pierson, 1 great niece Netanya Bausley, God son Marcus Wilson II and a host of relatives and friends. .
