Willie Jean Hunter was born on February 12, 1948 to the late Cornelius and Sophia Walker in Concordia Parrish, Louisiana.

Willie Jean was a loving and caring daughter, sister, mother and wife. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Jerl Hunter to whom she was married for more than 25 years; two daughters, Lashombe Singleton and Jeanna Hamilton; four siblings, Cornelius Walker Jr., Patricia Ann Walker, Robert Walker, and Anthony Walker and a host of other relatives and friends.

Two brothers, Billy Walker and Rogers Walker preceded her death in January 2014 and June 2015, respectively.

Willie Jean was always ambitious and adventurous, even trying out for the Dallas Cowboys cheerleading squad in the late 60's. Willie Jean eventually settled on a career in the Military and went on to proudly serve her country for over 20 years as a member of the United States Army. Willie Jean's impeccable work ethic and desire to serve her community lead her to a management role with Good Will Industries, where she retired for a second time after 10 years of service.
