William Rainier Perry was born on June 8, 1945 in Pine Bluff, AR and passed away on April 3, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Daniel "Buddy" Perry and Mildred Luquette Perry. He was also preceded in death by his aunt Mrs. Hilda Wilmington of Lorrain, OH; sister Alice Perry Dorn (Harold) and brother Eugene Perry. He graduated from high school in Pine Bluff, AR and continued his education at Arkansas AM&N.
William was married to Jocelyn, his wife of 22 years. William served in the United States Air Force and continued his career as a Police Officer with the City of Dallas Police Department where he retired in 1995. William was awarded with outstanding performance reviews during his time with DPD for his personal rapport with the community. William continued a career even after retirement with the Dallas Sheriff's office and the DISD Police Department. William had numerous affiliations connected to the community including Big Brothers and Sisters, Inc., NAACP, Knights of Columbus, City of Dallas Police Athletic League, and the Texas Peace Officers Association. William was also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
His passion was the love he shared with his family. Friends and family often sought William out for his candid advice and pure moments of laughter. William leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Jocelyn; son William George Coleman Perry of Ovilla, TX; daughter Crystal Perry of Dallas, TX; three sisters: Danette Blair of Douglasville, GA; Gloria McKindra (Leonard) of Austell, GA; Lydia Perry (Septima) of Cedar Hill, TX; three brothers: John Perry (Debbie) of Camden, AR; Ralph Perry of Southaven, MS; William Perry, Jr. (Michelle) of Atlanta, GA, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Although he will be greatly missed by family and friends, collectively we are comforted in knowing that he will forever be in God's embrace.
