Obituary

Wilford Rollins was born in Tyler, Texas on April 1, 1942 to the parents of Henry Rollins and Carrie Gossett Rollins.  Wilford attended and graduated from Emmett J. Scott High School in Tyler, Texas.   He worked at the Drawing Board and The Dallas Times Harold.

He was baptized at the St. Louis Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas at the age of seven.  He worked and learned under the leadership of Reverend Shepard. He later moved to Ft. Worth, Texas and became a member of East Gate Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Homer Reagan, where he served as an usher.

He married Nettie Swindell Rollins in 1986.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Rollins; mother, Carrie Rollins; eight brothers, Ed Will, Jessie Joe, John Henry, David, Jack, Bobby, Thomas, and Wayne; two sisters, Mary Frances and Nancy Mae.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a beloved wife, Nettle Swindell Rollins, Dallas, Texas;  sister,  Carrie Jones  of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughters, Pamela Rollins of Pasadena, California and Deshayla Strachan of Lake Mary, Florida; grandchildren, Shameca Sorrells, LaQuita Jackson, Kamilah Sorrells, Sherwin King, Jr., Kayin King, Kaylin King and Kenton Moore and many loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
