Obituary

Wendy Ann Johnson was born on October 29, 1957 in Dallas, TX. to the parentage of Johnnie Anderson and Ethel Johnson- Bryson. She was preceded in death by her brother, Adrian Eric Johnson and her grandmothers Easter Mae Wilson and Ida Mae Bryson. She was the middle child of one brother and three sisters.

Wendy was a very disciplined and smart child and began her education journey at Charles Rice and later attended J.N. Ervin. From there, she went on to attend Health Magnet High School where she graduated with the class of 86'. She gave her life to Christ at an early age in her childhood church Morning Star MBC under the leadership of Rev. H.D. Gill. She began her service to the Lord as a choir member, Usher and Finance committee under the leadership of the late Rev. W.F. Smith.

After graduating from High School, Wendy continued her studies at El Centro; later earning her nursing certification. She started her professional career as a Nursing Assistant at the Greenery Rehabilitation Center (later became HIS and Texas Specialty). She later went on to work at Vibra Specialty hospital where she served as the Staffing Coordinator until her battle with cancer prevented her from doing so.

Wendy was a God fearing woman who loved the Lord and her family tremendously. She was a die-hard Fan of the Dallas Cowboys and cheered them on no matter the outcome. Wendy will always be remembered for her smile that touched the lives of so many. She was a hands on, dedicated, encouraging mother who loved her girls Jaywen and Jaque unconditionally. In 2016 she became a member of Faithful MBC under the leadership of Pastor N.C. Sargent where she continued her servant duties as a Choir Member, Hospitality worker and youth sponsor.

She fought a long battle with Cancer for two years; never giving up, ALWAYS smiling and keeping those around her encouraged. Her faith never wavered throughout her battle, even in her last days she kept fighting and continued to be an inspiration to so many.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Life partner James Stanford, 2 daughters Jacquelin Henderson and Jaywen Stanford; Mother and Step Father Ethel and Harold Bryson; 3 sisters Gala (Chris), Rachel and Penny (Jerry); 1 step brother Alvin (Stephanie); bonus sister Eboni; Aunts Esther, Ovella (Willie), Norma, Aggus, Melma and Hazel; nephews and nieces – Dominique, DeAndre, Timothy, Vandric, KeAndre, Kendrick, LaMondra, Kenya, DeAndre Jr., Lavan, Davan, Kaya, Caleb and Bryson; two godsons Darius and Darnell, and a host of cousins, friends, co-workers, bonus sisters/brothers and church family.
