November 25, 1951 – March 10, 2024
Dee Williams-Dews was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was known as "G.G." by her great-granddaughter and known as "Wan-Dee "by family and friends. Wanda attended her early education at Dogan Elementary and received her High School Diploma from Emmett Scott High School in Tyler, Texas. She moved to Dallas, Texas where she was employed at Frito Lay, Sweetheart Cups and later retired from Parkland Hospital after 22 years of service. Wanda thoroughly enjoyed working for the School District. Being around her students and telling it like it is brought her joy every day. She previously worked at Mabank High School, Nova Academy, and lastly Seagoville High School where they spoke highly of her contributions to the school. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, Scratch-Offs and most of all, casinos.
Wanda Dee Dews has been welcomed into her new heavenly home by both her parents, Mable Louise Pruitt-Washington, and John Tom Williams, as well as her grandparents, Essie B. and Addie Lee Payne-Pruitt, along with a host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and friends. She leaves behind cherished memories for her only Aunt Billye Pruitt-Winn.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful legacy her only child, Yolanda Yvette Dews of Dallas, Texas. She leaves her wisdom and strength to her
grandchildren, Devin Ra'Shad Lee and Da'Sha Yvette Dews. She leaves her precious memories and unconditional love to her only great-grandchild Dei'Jah Sanai Rider, whom she truly adored. She also leaves her everlasting love to her sisters, Paula Lynn Williams, Karen Russell, Madelyn Johnson, Terri Williams, and Kaffie McDowell, and her wisdom and leadership to her only brother, Lester Hugh Williams. She says her final farewells, not goodbyes, to her two nieces Komeechia Williams-Price and Danielle Jackson, one nephew Zaire Williams, and to 3 great-nieces and nephews.
