Walter Lee Blackmon was born to Eddie Blackmon Sr. and Texanna Thomas on September 6, 1940 in Dallas, Texas. He met and married Esther Pearl Williams, had six lovely (bebekids), and remained married until Esther preceded him in death after 57 years. He accepted Christ at a young age. Walter attended C.F Carr Elementary School and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Dallas, Texas. He then graduated from Elkins Institute for Drafting and Design in Dallas, Texas. He enjoyed playing music and was skilled at playing the bongos and was a part of the male chorus at his Church. He was a part of the Teamsters Union for 30 Years and drove over 1,000.000 miles accident free. He was one of the first black drivers hired for Roadway Express Trucking Company. He also designed and drafted many homes and building in the DFW area utilizing his master skills in architecture.
Walter, went to be with the lord on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. He was preceded in death by: his parents Eddie Blackmon Sr. and Texanna Thomas, and Mildred Duke, Eddie Blackmon Jr., Stewart Blackmon, Edna Blackmon-Fair, A,D Fair, and living sibling Sandra Carter(Johnny Carter).
Walter leaves to lament his passing and celebrate his home going his children who proceeded him in death Michael Blackmon, Tony Blackmon(Gloria Wallace), Wyndol Blackmon, Reginald Blackmon.
He leaves to cherish his memories; daughter Stephanie Blackmon-Sanjoh (Phombep Sanjoh); son Kenneth Blackmon; grandchildren Tony Wallace, LaKechea Harriss, Latoya Blackmon, Nelva Blackson, Ronica Blackmon; Great Grandchildren: Alexis Gigante, Edwin Bailey, Kennadi Walllace, Destiny, Kasie and Kazic Harris; great-great childrens Aleesya Wallace, Victoria Blackmon, Kaycen Harris, Alesia Wright, Phoenix and Onyx.
