born on June 27, 1942 to Arthur and Lucille Woods in Carson, Texas, Vivian received her education through Daingerfield- Lonestar Independent School District where she excelled in her studies.

Vivian accepted Christ at a young age. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Carson,Texas, under the leadership of Rev. R.A McCurry. After moving to Dallas, she attended People's Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. S.M Wright. She later united with First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park under the leadership of Dr. Greg Foster, where she was a Sunday school teacher.

Vivian was a 1962 graduate of J.J Rhoades High School in Daingerfield, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Bishop College and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Administration from Texas A&m University-Commerce (formerly East Texas State).

Vivian was employed in the Dallas Independent School District where she served dutifully for 33 years as a Middle School, Elementary school, and Special Education teacher before retiring in 1997.

In her leisure, Vivian enjoyed traveling, cooking, hosting get-together, gardening, and serving God. Vivian enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving father, Arthur Woods, mother Lucille Woods, her brothers Gerald Woods and Winford Woods.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Wendi Carpenter and son-in-law, Christopher Carpenter, grandchildren, Chris Gibbs, Alexander Carpenter, Zachary Carpenter and Sabrina Carpenter and stepson Jamie Gibbs, sister Argie Nell White and Joyce Gholston: and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
