Virginia Lee Dorsey was born March 23, 1945 to Virgil Lee and Lorraine Miller Westbrook in Lancaster, TX.

Virginia attended Rocky Crest in Lancaster, TX and Pierce High School in Dallas, TX

At an early age, Virginia was a member of St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastors Evans, Thorton, and H.R. Garman. She sung in the choir as well as the Lancaster Federation Choir. She later attended Faithful Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of N.C. Sargent. While housing at Millbrook Assisted Living, she attended the church services there often. December 25, 2019, she let it be known that when god was ready to call her home, she was ready saying that god has changed her life.

Virginia married the late Jimmy Dorsey in 1963 in the home of his mother in Lancaster, TX. They later moved their family to California. They shared 4 children. She is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Lee and Lorraine Miller Westbrook; her son, Vincent Dorsey; 2 grandchildren, Vaughn Dorsey, Jr. and Vernon Dorsey, Jr.; 2 brothers, Wesley Westbrook, Jr. and Gary Westbrook; 2 sisters, Camellia Jo Smart and Wanda Sue Westbrook Collins.

Virginia received her heavenly wings on March 25, 2020 at the Millbrook Rehabilitation And Assisted Living Facility in Lancaster, TX.

Virginia leaves to cherish her memory to her children, Vincent "Van" Lee (Verna) of Lancaster, TX, Vaughn Dorsey, Sr. (Ramona), Vernon Dorsey (Renita) of California. 11 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. 3 Sisters, Laverne Smart of Lancaster, TX., Louis and Cora Lee of Dallas, TX; 1 Brother, Lawrence Lee of California and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
