Obituary

Mrs. Viola Caldwell Robinson was born to William Henry and Henrietta Shaw Caldwell on September 29, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is the middle of five children and raised two beautiful daughters. While her youth was sent in Indianapolis, Viola always knew there was a big beautiful world to see and experience. She always lived life on her terms, including her transition, and it forever paid off for her.

Viola was a young mother of two, who persevered to acquire her GED and soon after her nursing license. She worked in her field, but decided she wanted more.

In 1976, Viola moved to Dallas, Texas to ensure a better life for her and her two girls. She relinquished all material possessions to reside in a two-bedroom, Resident Assistant apartment located in the Pearl C. Anderson dorm on the campus of Bishop College.

To further her studies, she transferred to Dallas Baptist College and received her bachelor's degree in psychology in 1982. Viola worked fulltime, raised two daughters as a single mom while never missing one school event for the girls, and went to school full time. Seeing their mom graduate was one of the proudest days in the lives of her children. As Viola and the girls flourished, Viola decided it was time to add to their family dynamic. She met her husband of nearly 31 years, Mr. Dwight D. Robinson at Laboure Care Center. They married on June 3O, 199O in a grand celebration that left attendees ranting for years. There were numerous family tris, reunions, celebrations and milestones that followed.

In her never-ending quest for knowledge, Viola returned to college at the age of sixty-five. She is relentless and is a perpetual learner of life and knowledge. She and youngest daughter Tricia made history at the University of North Texas at Dallas as the first mother daughter duo to simultaneously acquire their master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. At graduation, Viola was sixty-nine and proud. Just prior to her transition, Viola was researching doctoral programs, studying for her LXC exam, and positioning to join Tricia in her growing counseling practice.

Education is important, hence the reason she ensure everyone in her household had a degree, daughter Jackie with a paralegal Degree, and Dwight a business degree. Family

is important, hence her resolve to ensure her brood and unit were tight. Living life to the fullest was a requirement. Her zest, effervescence and energy radiated. It was infectious and inspired us to believe we could do anything.

Her unconditional love and support are immeasurable, hence the genuine care and concern felt by all those she encountered. She has a calm, steady, reassuring resolve that everything is going to be okay. It always is!

Viola will be missed, especially by her family and those close. Keep her in your heart and manifest the tenants she lived by.
