Veola Rusher was born to the parents of Earnest and Leola Pickens on June 28, 1935, in Dallas, TX. She was 7th child of 9 kids. She attended school in Dallas, TX and graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Crozier Tech Business School. Veola became a devoted Christian at an early age. She grew up in the church and held several offices as she became older.
She met and married Leonard Rusher and from this union there was one son Everett and one daughter Patrice which made the family. Veola was employed in retail and from there she began to work in the technical field with Texas Instrument.
After her second child she became a devoted house wife for several years, then returned back to the business world until she became self- employed with their own business until she retired. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and fishing with her husband and kids. She never failed to try and take care of others and extend a helping hand when ever needed and sometimes just to help out.
Veola, was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Leola, her siblings, Corine, Robert, Mary, Howard, Ophelia, Alice and Temple and her loving husband Leonard Rusher of 50 years.
She leaves to cherish her memories her two devoted children Everett (Jannis), and Patrice. Two grand kids Detra Simon and Everett Rusher Jr., and four great-grand kids, Xavier Simon, Joseph Amos, Zaria and Skylar Rusher and a whole host of loving nieces and nephews.
