Velma Ruth Hollis was born in Hallsville, TX on July 18th 1931, to Levi Wilkens and Hattie Cravine. Both precede her in death.

She united in Holy matrimony to Thomas Wayne Hollis, Sr. in 1947. To this union, nine children were born; three sons: Phillip Wayne, Thomas Wayne Jr. and Jimmie Don, one daughter Sarah Louise, two sisters and five brothers all precede her in death.

She was a member of Christ Deliverance Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory five children: Virginia, Jamie, Steven (Barbara), Donald, and Mark Hollis; 21 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. 2 sisters Margaret Snyder (Q) and Nelva Walker. Other relatives & friends.
