Uzziah "Earl" Anderson was born on August 24, 1947 in Marietta, TX to the parentage of the late George W. and Lola B. Anderson. Earl was the sixth child of nine children. He united with the Floyd Valley Missionary Baptist Church Marietta, Texas at an early age. After moving to Dallas he joined Carver Heights Baptist Church and is a Charter member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Male Chorus.
Earl graduated from Douglas High School in Douglassville, TX in 1965 as Valedictorian. He later attended Bishop College with a major in Accounting, graduating in 1969 as Summa Cum Laude. He later attended Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon and Michigan State University where he graduated with a Master's Degree in Banking as Summa Cum Laude.
In 1969 Earl interviewed with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and was hired on the spot as a Junior Assistant Bank Examiner. In 1969 he was drafted into the Army. After being honorably discharged, he returned back to the Federal Reserve Bank.
Earl married Lena Nunn on May 29, 1973. To this union two daughters were born: LaKeita Anderson and LaShundra Anderson-Tate. This year would have made 48 years.
He was preceded in death by parents, George and Lola Anderson; brothers, Bruce Anderson, George Anderson Sr., and Arthur Anderson; sisters, Olevia Mack and Alylene Haynes.
Earl leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, LaKeita Anderson & LaShundra Anderson-Tate; son-in-law, Courtney Tate; grandchildren, Kayla Young, Kelsey Clark & Aiden Tate; brother, Bennie Anderson (Pleatis) of Atlanta, TX; sisters, Odessa Spence and Winnie Walker of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law Gwendolyn Anderson of Marietta, TX.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 7550 S. Hampton Rd., Dallas, TX, (no Wake), viewing, February 8th from 3 pm - 8 pm at Evergreens Funeral Home.
He will be laid to rest at the DFW National Cemetery on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 10:30 a.m.
