Obituary

Tyitha "Ty" Michele Barnes was born on June 18, 1966, in Hempstead, Texas, to the Late Wilbert Middleton and Ava Garroutte Hunt.
She was the firstborn of two children.

Ty graduated from Hempstead High School in 1984. She then attended Prairie View A&M where she graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor
of Business Administration Degree. She soon started working as an insurance claim adjuster. Because of her work ethics and drive for
perfection she was able to climb the cooperate ladder. She continued working in insurance until her sickle cell diseases made it impossible
to keep up with the demand and the stress of the work environment. She retired in 2015 after 27 years on the job.

On December 28, 1991, Ty got married to Richard Reid. They were blessed with two beautiful children. On April 2, 2000 Ty received the right hand of fellowship at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship (OCBF). On September 27, 2003 Ty and Cedric Barnes were united in marriage. To this union, one lovely daughter was born.

Ty is a very active member at OCBF. She first started as an Ambassador for Christ, which is a greeter. She switched over to the Guest Services ministry. She also became a member of the Life On Life Women's Bible Study.

Ty leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted husband, Cedric Barnes, her two daughters, Bria Grimm (Dillon) and Tania Barnes; her son, Jourdan Reid; her brother, Wilbert Middleton Jr. (Jennifer); two grandchildren, Jaxon and Ava Grimm; and a host of other relatives and friends.
