On August 31, 1962, a unique, beautiful, soon to be sassy, loving baby girl was born to Alcide M. and Levell Chambers. Tina was born in New Orleans, LA and was the first born of the three daughters born to this union.
She confessed Jesus Christ while attending St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, Elgin Illinois and was baptized at age seven. Tina continued her spiritual journey and more recently held a membership at Greater Mount Pilgrim Church, Desoto, TX.
She was an excellent student that loved to read and particularly enjoyed mathematics. Tina graduated from Elgin High School in 1980. She continued her education at Grambling State University (GSU) where she received her B.S. degree in 1984, with a major in Accounting. During her time at GSU she was initiated into Delta Iota Chapter of her beloved Sorority, Inc. in the spring of 1983. While at GSU, Tina was also a member of the Windy City and Accounting clubs. Tina participated in the calendar girl pageant and was crowned Miss July.
Tina was a devoted mother and wife. Tina's first love was her one and only daughter Alicia Levell Duncan, born April 27, 1991. In 1988, she met and married the second love of her life, Alvin Eugene Williams on December 30, 2017. Tina and Alvin enjoyed an amazing journey traveling and sharing precious moments.
Tina's love of numbers resulted in her holding several positions in the financial industry including: Accounting, Payroll and Human Resources. Her passion and desire to help people coupled with her beautiful personality were instrumental in her success as the entrepreneur of Grade A Tax Service. Tina's calling as an Accountant was more than a career, it was her ministry. was more interested in educating her clients than in financial She was more interested in educating her clients than in financial gain. Serving others was paramount to Tina's existence.
Tina loved, loved, loved people, and people loved, loved, loved Tina. Tina took on the role as the family matriarch. She fostered special relationships and regularly organized and hosted family gatherings, particularly Thanksgiving dinner and family reunions. Tina was persistent that all family members participated. She had a warm smile, infectious laugh and family reunions. She had a warm smile, infectious laugh and magnanimous personality. She was an extremely generous soul and she never met a stranger. Tina loved to travel, cook, and entertain. She was considered a "foodie" by many of her closest friends and could always suggest a good place to eat.
Tina was preceded in death by her younger sister, Alicia Chambers, maternal and paternal grandparents, special aunt, Gloria Dumas and other family members. She leaves not to mourn but to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, parents Alcide Chambers, Levell Chambers; husband Alvin E. Williams; daughter Alicia L. Duncan; sister Tanika Chambers-Cross (Kelvin); siblings Noel Canonge, Nowell Canonge (Elizabeth), Alcide M. Chambers III (Tina), Jasmine McCarthy; loving nephews Kelvin Jr. and Christopher Martin, as well as a host of other nieces and nephews; sister in love Faye Green (Phillip), numerous godchildren; cousins, aunts, uncles, sorority sisters, close family, clients of Grade A Tax Service and friends too numerous to name.
