Sergeant Timothy Lee Kemp was born July 17, 1964 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Dorothy J. Kemp and Leo Kemp, Jr. He peacefully transitioned from life to eternal life July 10, 2018. Timothy, a Christ-follower, accepted Christ into his heart at an early age and was baptized at Evangelist Temple COGIC in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Timothy received formal education through Caddo Parish Schools and was a member of the 1982 graduating class of Huntington High School. There was always a genuine love for sports, specifically football. As #75 Defensive Lineman, he played as a proud Huntington Raider throughout high school. After High School, Timothy attended Southern Arkansas University on a football scholarship, where he continued to play on the Defensive Line until his senior year. He really enjoyed rushing and sacking the quarterback. Timothy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in December 1991, serving honorably through various deployments, including Operation Desert Storm. Timothy held true to the Marine Corps motto: Semper Fi - "always faithful and loyal", reminding all that 'once a marine, always a marine'.
Timothy met the love of his life, LaTeasha Tatum October 1990. The two united in Holy Matrimony on September 22, 1993 in New Bern, NC. They have been blessed to have 4 wonderful children to their union of 24 years. All who encountered Tim understood how much he loved his family. He was known to them to be "automatic". Always keeping order, having an exit plan, being a provider, a true protector and by far the strongest man they have ever known. He valued hard work, dedication, accomplishing goals and finishing what you start. He would, at any moment, give his life for his family. He is forever the "hero"!
Timothy's loyalty was evident through his 22 year tenure with Loomis Armoured. He worked tirelessly and diligently for years, up early morning, into the late nights as an Operation's Supervisor. In his spare time, Timothy's newest hobby was oil painting on canvas. Other leisure time was spent simply, enjoying sports, listening to a broad spectrum of music genres, smoking cigars and drinking crown royal on the rocks.
Timothy Lee Kemp, a very renowned man in the eyes of his family, is solid as a "rock"! He leaves behind a legacy of wisdom, laughs and unforgettable memories. He will forever be cherished as a loving husband, beloved father, grandfather "paw paw", son, uncle, brother, and friend. Fond memories will forever be etched in the hearts of his beautiful wife of 24 years, LaTeasha Monique Kemp; four children: LaTario Reynolds (son), El Charrita Craig, Tirya & Kirya Kemp (daughters), Eight grandchildren: Jalayia Reynolds, Elijah & Isaiah Craig, Jakayla Reynolds, Zoe Belle Reynolds, Elston Simon, Imani Craig, and Sarah Jane Reynolds; His Mother, Dorothy Jean Kemp; Father, Leo Kemp, Jr; Brothers: Hiliary Lee Kemp, Vincent J.
