Obituary

Thomas was born to the late Cottrill, Sr. and Emma Sue Applewhite in Homer, LA on March 24, 1946.  He was immersed in the Christian Community that would be his life support from an early age.

Thomas grew up in a large and loving family with 4 sisters (Maxine, Abigail , and Shirley Ann) and 4 brothers (Earl, Grover, Cottrill, Jr. and Teab Frank).

Thomas graduated from Mayfield High School and later continued his education at Grambling State.

Thomas joined the Army in 1970, he was a Vietnam Veteran and held numerous awards due to his service.  He proudly serviced until his honorably discharge.

Thomas is survived by three children Tony, Wanda and Thomas (John) Applewhite, one grandchild Taliyah Applewhite, special daughter Marsh Chappell, his sister's Maxin (Raleigh) Henderson, Abigail (Blendell), and Shirley Ann (Chester), and his brother Taeb Frank (Jaci), as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Earl, Grover, Cottrill, Jr.

Thomas was  well-loved man.  After his military service, he was a Basketball Coach, Chef and Dart Driver.  Thomas enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys play and boxing.

As a minister of the Gospel, Thomas enjoyed sharing the word of the Lord, to all that knew him.
