Obituary

Thernesia Taylor- Faith-filled believer, beloved mother, loving sister, obedient daughter, nurturing grandmother, supportive aunt, generous friend, and so much more to so many others peacefully transitioned into eternity on the morning of November 26, 2017. Born to the parentage of Alvin and Cynthia Sadler, who preceded her in death, Thernesia (affectionately known as Pookie) was educated in the Dallas Public school system and earned her high school diploma from Booker T. Washington High School where she was an active and vital member of their alumni Association. She continued her education through the Dallas County Community college system all the while supporting her family and working full time.

Thernesia always maintained a strong work ethic and instilled a love of education in her six children all of whom were born to her during her marriage to William E. Taylor Sr. who proceeded her in death. Early in her life, Thernesia professed her belief in Jesus as her Lord and Savior and served as an active member of the Church where she became a life-long member of the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. During her tenure she served in a number of capacities, lending her talents, insight, wisdom and support to a number of auxiliaries and ministries.

Professionally, Thernesia enjoyed a rich and varied work history where her skills and abilities enabled her to be respected and appreciated by her coworkers and employers alike. Her intelligence, wit, and adaptability served her well during her tenure as the Unit Secretary for the Margot Perot Neonatal intensive care Unit of Presbyterian hospital for nearly a quarter of a century until she retired.

Thernesia enjoyed a loving relationship with her siblings: Betty Jo (Jimmy), C.D. Coleman (deceased), Willie (deceased), Mozelle, Alvin Jr. (deceased) (Earline) and Ora B Sadler.
