The Life and Legacy of
Thenoland Lavar Starks

Thenoland Lavar Starks was born on March 25, 1977, in Dallas, Texas to Linda Wafer and Cecil Ray Starks.

He was educated in the Dallas Independent School District and graduated from W. W. Samuell High School in 1995. While in high school, he was a participant in the ROTC program and played on the school's football team. After high school, he attended Prairie View A&M University with a major in Criminal Justice. However, he later decided to take his education in a different direction. Although he no longer attended Prairie View A&M University, he loved and attended many of the activities held over the years. You could always find him in attendance at any of their games played locally.

Thenoland had received certification in the operation of heavy equipment and security. He was experienced in Warehouse Management as well as being trained as a Hazmat Technician.

Thenoland loved his church (Porter Temple) of which he had been a lifelong member. He participated in the young adult and men choirs and was the church drummer. He was a participant in many of his church's activities and was also an active member of the Trustees Board.

Thenoland was preceded in death by his grandparents-Larry and Everine Wafer, Ross and Travis Lewis; his stepfather, Ross E. Lewis, Jr. and his half-brother, Ross E. Lewis, III.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Linda W. Lewis; his father, Cecil R. Starks of Plano, Texas; his son, Savion Lavar; his brothers, Reginald E. Lewis of Dallas, Texas, Tarus L. Starks and wife of Stockton, California and Caiden Ray Starks of Shreveport, Louisiana; sisters, Audrey and Marcus Dawson of Prosper, Texas and Ebony Mattox of Atlanta , Georgia; God-sister, Chante Hawkins of Garland, Texas; his aunt and uncle, Annette and Harlan Hill of Duncanville, Texas; cousins, Barbara and Charles Aldridge and family of Denton, Texas and Lametra Bowser of Duncanville, Texas; a loving girlfriend, Nikki Alexander and a host of other family and friends.

Thenoland will be missed for his ability to light up a room with his funny personality, his ability to get along with most everybody and his kindness in helping others.
