Tara Lashun Waites "Shun" was born on May 27, 1971 in Dallas, Texas. Tara gave her life to Christ at a young age at Christ Gospel Church of Dallas where she continued to worship until her departure. Tara attended River Falls Christian Academy and John Neely Bryan Elementary Schools. She attended O.B. Holmes Middle School and Skyline High School "Class of 89".

Tara was as beautiful as the butterflies. She loved as warm as her favorite color purple. She loved cooking and could tell you the ingredients of any dish with just one taste. Shun loved traveling, having fun, hanging with her family and doing anything she could for her friends and church family. Shun was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

Tara was preceded in death by: her grandparents, Aubrey and Arizonia Waites; brother, Darin Waites; and niece, James Reese.

Tara is survived by: her mother, Hattie L. Waites; sisters, Telecia D. Swann (Chad) and Jennifer A. Jackson (Kevin) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Those we love must someday
pass beyond our present sight...
Must leave us and the world
we know without their radiant light.
But we know that like a candle
their lovely light will surely shine
to brighten up another place
more perfect... more divine.
And in the realm of Heaven where
they shine so warm and bright.

in God's eternal light.
