Obituary

Talitha Shaunte' Wesley was born to Kenneth Wesley and Suzette Gibson on July 1, 1978 in Denver, Colorado - a pretty little girl with the most beautiful eyes, a bundle of expectations, a precious jewel of the world. She had big shoes to fill since she was the first grandchild on her father and mother's side. She was educated through the Denver Public School system. Talitha always had a zeal for learning. Throughout her primary and middle school years she was consistently on the honor roll. By the time she reached high school, Talitha was in the gifted and talented accelerated learning program. She was also a Girl Scout, an avid reader, very competitive and a lover of animals. After watching Purple Rain one time, an adoring fan of the iconic singer Prince was born! Talitha was a very inquisitive child that yearned for the basic necessities of life – such as a good loving family, friends to play with, to learn from and grow with and last but not least being relentless in her contribution of love and care for others.

At the age of twenty her life was forever changed. Talitha gave birth to the love of her life, a beautiful baby boy - Taejan Jahi Strode. Ever since that wonderful day he was born he was the center of her world. She did her best to teach him good values, about the world that we live in and most all about love. Because without question she loved him unconditionally. She allowed Tae to experience the world at his pace. That is until, she had to show him some tough love, and made him get a job! Tae's fondest memories of his mom are wrapped up tightly in nicely decorated experiences of their childish banters which she always won. A self-less mother who did her best to raise him to be the best man he can be.

Talitha exemplified in so many ways the essence of who we can strive to be and who we are within the limitations of our own imperfections. She was a good person at her core, she had lifelong friends, she did the best she could do at whatever she was motivated to do and she excelled at being the best version of herself with the knowledge she had.

Those precious loved ones that preceded her in death are her father, Kenneth Wesley; step-father, James Willoughby; her maternal grandmother and both her paternal and maternal grandfathers.

Those that remain to cherish her memory are her devoted and beloved partner, Christina King; son, Taejan Jahi Strode; mother, Suzette Gibson; brothers, Marque Willoughby, Matthew Willougby and Kenneth Wesley, Jr.; sisters, Reneisha Wesley, Dereishia Wesley and Kendice Wesley; a very close cousin, Yvette Cole; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins, other relatives and friends. Talitha will always be missed but most of all she'll always be loved!
