Stella Louise Evans was called to be with the Lord on September 7, 2021 at the age of 78.

Born on February 18, 1943 in Bryans Mill, Texas, to Henry and Ella Mae Garner, and lived her childhood in Omaha, Texas. She relocated and spent her adult life in Dallas , Texas. Stella was a dedicated employee for Dallas Independent School District as an administrative clerk for 38 years before retiring in 2009. She was married to Charles Evans for over 25 years and affectionately c ontinued to call h im " her honey and husband ".

Stella accepted Christ at an early age. She was an active member of Riverside Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas Texas under the pastorate of Ralph Whitehead. She loved the Lord and her Riverside church family. In health and sickness she constantly praised and thanked God for everything.

Stella was well known for so many things and especially for her beautiful and bright smile which could light up a dark room. She was a comforter , adviser and loved her family and friends. She was always helping anyone in need, no matter the request. She also never met a stranger and would talk and make friends with e veryone. She loved shopping, especially for plants. She had an amazing green thumb and could give any plant life.  She was passionate about gardening and she loved reviving plants and giving them to others. She was an avid fan of ALL sports.  She was an amazing cook and her family loved her famous hot water cornbread and banana pudding . She loved setting her dining room table with beautiful place settings each month. It brought her so much joy to host Christmas at her home every year. She loved everyone, especially her children and grandchildren.

Stella is preceded in death by her father, Henry Garner , her mother Ella May Coffey, her brother Doyle Leonard; her sister Lona Ware and, her son Keith Rogers.

She leaves to cherish her memory, Charles Evans; her sisters Maggie Sierra, Martis Black, Barbara Coffey, Marilynn Garner ; daughter Lynda Roque, Sons William Mathis, Dennis Mathis, Timothy Rogers Jr. , Mack Rogers; Grandchildren, Michelle Roque, Tiffani Dickerson, Valerie Craddock, Timothy Rogers Jr., Malcolm Rogers, Vanessia Foreman, Gina Diaz, Keitoya Morris, Asia Jeffrey, Messigh Garner and a host of great grandchildren , numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
