Sherell A. Cooper departed this life on June 8, 2026. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, she later located to Desoto, Texas after Hurricane Katrina. She graduated from L.E. Rabouin High School in New Orleans. She worked the majority of her adult life in the hospitality industry in New Orleans. Her last job before her untimely death was her most fulfilling, as she worked at her youngest grandchildren’s school, where she was able to spend more time with them.
She was the wife of Troy Cazenave. She was the loving mother to Alcide, Billie, and Qiana Cooper, grandmother to Altoine and Alton Taylor, Ryan Burkhalter Jr, Brilen, Raylan, Ryder, and Fayola Cooper, godmother to Kaylen Saunders, stepmother to Thaddeus and Shanta Hardy, Toya Cazenave. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Billie Cooper. She was the daughter to Phillip Clay and Frances Lutz(Gino); sister to Joel Cooper and Tabitha Lutz. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m.
