Henderson
December 1, 1954 – March 2, 2022
Sharon was born to the parentage of Chester Goodson Sr. and Juanita Wheeler on December 1,1954 in Dallas, Texas.
Sharon lived in Germany as a baby until school age. She received her formal education in the Dallas ISD school system, She attended H.S. Thompson Elementary, Lisbon Elementary, Boude Storey Jr. High and graduated from The State Champion Golden Bears of South Oak Cliff High School in 1973 where she was an active member of the Pivoteer Drill Team. She later attended East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas.
Sharon gaver her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized. She was a beloved lifetime member of Salem Institutional Baptist Church. She participated in the following ministries: Mass Choir, Nurses Guild, Women of Praise (Dance Group), Sunday School, Culinary kitchen helper and assisted serving with the Homeless Ministry. There were no limits in serving God that Sharon would not do through all of the ministries of Salem.
Sharon met and married the love of her life, Sherman Henderson Sr. To this union they were blessed with a daughter, Sherronda Goodson and son, Sherman Henderson Jr. She was later blessed with a bundle of joy, Chatney Henderson.
There was no job too big or too small that Sharon couldn't accomplish. She worked as a server for many different venues and held several positions in the Dallas Metroplex as a hostess and mixologist. Sharon also worked in the Psychiatric Department of Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.
Sharon was a lifetime member and served as President of AMVET Post 292 for many years.
Throughout her life, Sharon was known as a very energetic person, who loved life and never met a stranger. Besides spending time with her family and friends, she loved to sing, dance, attend church, attend her grandchildrens sporting events, watching movies and her favorite television shows. She also enjoyed watching her beloved Dallas Cowboys and drinking her percolating coffee.
After 67 years of love and dedication to her family, friends, and so many other fortunate loved ones; Sharon took her wings to begin her well deserved final rest.
