January 30, 1948 – June 1, 2024
Saundra Cordelia Clark Bass was born on January 30, 1948 to Henry Clark and Jessie Mae Smith in DeQueen, Arkansas. The family relocated to Dallas, Texas when Saundra was six. She was educated in the Dallas Independent School District and graduated from Madison High School. She then attended Bishop College earning a degree in Sociology. Saundra was an avid believer in education and attended El Centro Community College, Prairie View University Extensio, Collin Creek Community and Cedar Valley Community College. She also attended The Deaf Actions Center to learn sign language.
She was a member of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship before becoming a member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church.
On December 11, 2011, Saundra married Reverend Mitchell Bass. She loved to travel until her health failed. Saundra retired from AT&T. Saundra was a very giving person and was also a volunteer for many organizations.
Saundra is survived by her loving husband, Reverend Mitchell Bass; son, Darren Clark; sisters, Vivian Hegger and Kathy Famous (Bruce); granddaughter, Shedaria Dean; great-grandchildren, Dezariah Pugh and Dezayveon Pugh. Saundra leaves a host of cousins, family and friends who love and will miss her dearly.
