SanTosha Ronia Anderson was born on December 14, 1973 to the loving parents of Henry and Thelma Anderson. She was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 14, 2017. SanTosha had many nicknames: "Little Mama" by her dad, "Santy", "San", "Sugah", and "Redd."
Santy was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Pastor Dr. Robert H. Wilson Sr., where she sung in the young adult choir. Santy's love for singing continued into her adulthood. Her family roots for songs began with her grandfather, the late Henry "Pat" Anderson, her father, brother, and several aunts.
Santy graduated from W. W. Samuell High School in Dallas ISD with the Class of 1991. She continued her education for a brief time at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. Her drive to try new things and her love for cooking, led her to Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Dallas, to become a chef. Santy worked for Dallas Power and Lights, also known as TXU. She later became employed at the United States Postal Service, where she worked for twenty-four years.
Santy's only dear son, Jirhome Quidon Anderson Carter, known as "Q," was her love and joy. She was a great and loving mother, as well as his teacher. Santy was a very patient and understanding mother. She always expected the best of him. She loved reading to him, as well as teaching him how to read. She strived and prided herself in raising a "smart" young man.
Santy's long-time best friends were Tamara "Tam" Green and Arlandria Mitchell Houston.
Santy has gone home to be with her grandparents, Henry "Pat" and Idella Anderson and Clad and Marie Smith. She is survived by her loving son, Jirhome "Q" Anderson Carter; her devoted parents, Henry and Thelma Anderson; her brothers, Gentish (Jessica) Anderson and Jasmond (Monica) Anderson; her nephews, Gevon Anderson, Riley Lewis, Genobie and Tibiaas Anderson, and Jasmond Anderson II; her aunts and uncles, Alma Hicks; Vivian Mallard; Alfonzo (Verdell) Savage Sr.; Gwen (Tim) Patterson; John Smith Sr.; Clarice Smith; Betty Rayson; and Bettye Paige; her cousins, Ron (Rhonda) Hurd; Tracy, Treyshon, and Alfred Hurd; Michelle Rayson; Linda Marsh; Alliquis McGill; Catriese (Kevin) Harrison; Timetra, Mario (KeChan), and Adrian Patterson; John Jr., Cartina, and Demetriese Smith; Skylar Young; Marquis Kennedy; Jared Smith; Chase (Jessica) Hampton, Kendall (Michelle) Richards; Rhudene (Chuck) Gullatt; Valerie (Charles) Hampton; Patrena (Richard) Griffin; Jacquelyne Mallard; Gail (Alfred) Williams; David Hicks Jr.; Anthony Lang; Althea (David) Hicks; Alfonzo (Towanda) Savage Jr.; and many many more cousins, other relatives, friends, and church family.
Santy's strength was her ability to take care of "everybody else." This journey seemed very important to her and her family knows that God will take care of her now, as she is in God's care.
