Obituary

Samuel Wallace loved his daughters fiercely.  Step was not in his vocabulary; we just were.  Totally; without question.  He had a way of making us all think we were his favorite.  He was not perfect; as no man is.  I mean he was a Cowboys fan, but he was as close to the example of a man any of us could get.  The love he shared with our mother for 30 years is something you see in movies.  Now they went through some trials and tribulations to attain that, but man did they have it!  Even after his commitment to our mother was complete, he never wavered.  In fact, he held on tighter to us.  I pray his grandsons recognize the example he set forth for them as the type of young men they should aspire to be.

Daddy, you were kind, giving, hardheaded, loving, and loved to steal pillows and blankets from hospitals with zero shame.  You were our rock for so long that our world seems broken at the moment.  Give us a moment to remember that mama taught us to fly, and you taught us to stand.  We'll get back up.  I promise.  We love you!
