Samuel (Sammie) Harris was born to the parentage of the late Sammy Harris and the late Ruby Bailey in the spring of 1943 in the piney woods of Louisiana. Raised in the home of his parental grandparents the Late Lindy and Sam Harris where he was taught the values of hard work and taking care of family.

He met and romanced Caseal Rhone in 1959 marrying her in December 1961. To this union four children were born.

In the cold of Tuesday, January 16th the eternal Master called and Sammie answered "hear I am Lord" and took his rest from the labors of this world.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Sammie Harris and Ruby Bailey, son Steven Harris, daughter Shelia Greer and brothers Johnny Green, Edward Harris, Billy Harris, and Charles Harris.

He leaves to cherish his love and fondest memories his love of fifty six years Caseal son Christopher (Tammie)daughters Yolanda (Trini) and LaShundra (Julian). Brothers Kency, Lavel (Pat), Ray, Rickey Willie Floyd; sisters Jesse Faye Hudson, Jacqueline Harris, Betty and E. 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Those we love must someday

pass beyond our present sight...

Must leave us and the world

we know without their radiant light.

But we know that like a candle

their lovely light will surely shine

to brighten up another place

more perfect... more divine.

And in the realm of Heaven where

they shine so warm and bright.

Our loved ones live forevermore

in God's eternal light.
