On the date of December 16 in 1953 in Confederate Memorial Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana a child was born. The Mother was a beautiful and charismatic young woman named Flora V. Johnson whom was called "Baychild". The Father was a hardworking man, multi talented, with an entrepreneurial spirit named Gray Johnson. The child was named Sammie Johnson and he would go on to live a beautiful blessed life growing up on his parents farm in Plain Dealing, Louisiana along with his siblings: Charles Ray, Ruth Ann, Theona Marie, Barbara Jean, Patsy Lou, and Donald Kirby. Sammie attended school at Carrie Martin Elementary, Plain Dealing High School, and Southern University. With his parents blessings Sammie then decided to move to Dallas, Texas. Upon his arrival in the Big City he worked many jobs which included furniture moving, supply delivery, and truck driving. Along the way he met a gorgeous young woman named Wanda Turner whom he married. From that union: Tamilia Johnson, Tatayanda Johnson, and Sammie Johnson Jr. were born. Sammie was loving family man who lived out the rest of his days as a professional bus driver which he did until his retirement. Sammie passed away to go be with the Lord peacefully in his home in Lancaster, Texas on Wednesday November 28, 2018. He lives forever in the lives of all that he touched. He was a wise man, charismatic, spiritual, had a great sense of style, direction, and understanding. He is a man that none of us will ever forget and he lives in our hearts because each of us has been impacted by him in some way. His wife, children, grand children (Shayanna, Saniyah, Serenity, Shaliyah, Trey, and Charity), sisters, nephews, nieces, mother in law (Cora Thomas), in-laws, cousins, and friends will continue the legacy of the great man that he is. The Lords will always be done. Bless the readers of these words GOD always has everything under control.
