Sammie Carraway Jr. on August 13,1953 was born to Sammy and Lena Carraway in Longview, TX in Pleasant Hill.Sammie attended schools in Longview, Tx and later moved to Dallas, Tx. This is where he resided and later retired from Square D and Siemens.As a young man, he met and married Linda Jackson; the union was blessed with one son Leyondria Carraway (Scooter), Mary Carraway (Kechia) and LaToshia Carraway-Banks. Later in life, he united in holy matrimony with Marcia Henderson.On April 19th, 2026, early in the morning, Sammie was called home and peacefully transitioned to eternal rest with Our Father.Sammie had a passion for being a hard-working man and was a true entrepreneur. He knew how to make it happen. To everyone who truly knew him, knew him as “Flat”.He is preceded in death by his parents Sammy Carraway Sr., Lena Carraway, his sister Ida Bailey, his brothers Tommy Lee Carraway and Robert D. Carraway (Jack), and his great grand-son Kalem Pursley.He leaves to cherish his memory, his beautiful wife Marcia Henderson, his children Leyondria Carraway (Scooter), DeRoyce Parish, Mary Carraway (Kechia) all of Dallas, Tx, LaToshia Banks (Juan) of Longview, Tx, Brandon Parish and Antwone Carraway (Sam) of Dallas, Tx. His sisters Fannie Mae Willis, Wanda Jean Lander (George) both of Dallas, Tx; Sammie Louise Long of LaMarque, Tx and Glenda Carraway Johnson (Claudell) of Longview, Tx. His grandchildren; Meghan, Shakeia, Bobby (BJ), Jordan, Jada, LeAndria, Shariya, King, JaQualyn, Melanie, Chloe, Erin, Sammy, Jayceon and Samaria, special nieces Annie Faye Gardner and Debora Jones (Heinnich); and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and family.TRIBUTES:Your memory is a keepsake of time that lives forever in our hearts. Dad the love doesn’t go away, you will walk beside us every day. Forever in our hearts your beautiful soul will never be forgotten.
