Obituary

Ruthie Lee (Williams) Jackson was born on August 17, 1937, in Rayville, Louisiana, to the late Eli and Mary Bradshaw Williams. She was a woman of quiet strength, enduring faith, and deep love for her family.

She was united in holy matrimony to Johnny Jackson, Jr., and to this union seven children were born. Ruthie embraced her role as a wife, mother, and homemaker with grace and devotion, pouring love and care into her family throughout her life.

At an early age, Ruthie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and began her walk of faith at Saint Timothy Baptist Church in Monroe, Louisiana. She later united with Macedonia Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board. In August 1994, Ruthie relocated to Dallas, Texas, where she found her final church home at Arlington Park First Baptist Church. Her life reflected a steadfast belief in God, and she remained grounded in faith until the very end.

On April 11, 2026, Ruthie peacefully entered eternal rest in the comfort of her home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 19 years, Johnny Jackson, Jr. of Monroe, Louisiana; her daughters, Shirley Jackson Wilmore of Dallas, Texas, and Thelma Jackson Scott of Monroe, Louisiana; her son, Johnny Jackson of Dallas, Texas; her sisters, Mary Lee Williams of Mississippi, Fannie Mae Carter of Monroe, Louisiana, and Bertha Rose of Dallas, Texas; and her brother, Howard Price of Chicago, Illinois.

She leaves to cherish her memory three loving daughters, Verna Jean Jackson, Carolyn Ann Jackson, and Joyce Marie Jackson; one devoted son,

Darrin Dewayne Jackson, all of Dallas, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other beloved relatives, and treasured friends who will forever hold her memory close in their hearts. Ruthie’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she has gone from labor to reward, her legacy of faith, strength, and love will live on for generations to come.
