Obituary

Ruthie was born November 17, 1925, to parents Curley Malone and Christine Roberson Malone. Being the
eldest of 4 children, nurturing started at an early age.
Ruthie accepted Christ at an early age and, was a member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, and served
the Lord as an Usher. She served faithfully and proudly as an usher, Sunday School Teacher, BTU Teacher,
and Missionary. Later in life united with her daughter and son-in-law at the Highland Baptist Church.
She attended Terrell Public School and graduated valedictorian in 1939. She retired from Southland after
20-plus years of service. Madea was hard-working and resilient.
Our Precious Madea
A lady of great honor and pride. She believed in God and all His promises. She taught us about Him in
every conversation and every aspect of life. Her best advice that was always given to us, no matter what
was happening in our lives, was "Talk to the father" and "Read Proverbs ."Madea did not waver in her
faith; even when life happened, she trusted God. After losing 3 of her children, a sister, and a mother, she
kept the faith. Then less than a year later, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She would always say
I trust him. She would always say I am taking it day by day and talking to the father. Madea was our
matriarch, our example; she taught us to "Talk to the father."
Madea enjoyed sewing, cooking, and she was our beautician. She made clothes for all seasons and everyone
and she taught us how to do it as well. Madea would cook some of the best spaghetti, hamburger,
dressing, candied yams, mac and cheese, and nothing could top her pound cake. Madea would press and
curl hair that could withstand rain. She took pride in every talent that God blessed her with and used it
to give him all the glory.
Madea is preceded in death by her parents, her son Richard Malone, 2 of her daughters, Carolyn White
and Cynthia Hedgeman; two sisters, Queen Clark and Vola Liferidge and her brother Lewis Malone; niece
Vickie Malone and nephew Keith Dickerson.
Madea is survived by her daughter Jennett (David) Griggs; sister in law Barbara Malone; nine grandchildren,
Antonio (Monica) Fore, Nartarsha (Gerome) Jones, Patsondra Davis, John Jackson Jr., Richard Malone,
Patrick White, J'Reaetta (Joe) Sims, Brian Malone, and Ashton Malone, and 22 great-grandchildren and
31 great-great-grandchildren, three cousins she loved and treated as grandchildren John Wesley (Sonja)
Williams, Sonya Williams-King and Percy Williams, her first cousins Laureta Jones, Rosie Clark, Carla
Mayshack, Charlie J Malone, Jessie Williams, Charlie L (Paula) Malone and Johnny (Ann) Malone, two
nieces Janice (Richard) Edward-Jackson and Joyce (Bobby) Baker and special nephew whom always

other relatives, friends, and neighbors who loved her dearly.
