Obituary

Ruth Gonzales-Richardson was born on September 27, 1934 in Hostyn, Texas (Fayette County, six miles south of La Grange, TX) , via midwife to Joseph (Joe) Gonzales, Jr. and Olevia Davis, one week after the passing of her grandmother, Fannie Smith-Davis. Ruth was the fourth child of five. Her siblings were Joe B., Golda Mae, Lillie Mae, and Gustella. Ruth attended school in La Grange, Texas up through the 8th grade and left school to find work. A few years later, she united with Jessie D. Vaughns and birth a baby girl, Linda Ruth Vaughns, on May 13, 1952. As a single mother, she packed and moved to Dallas, Texas to join her uncle, Alex Gonzales, and her aunt, Emma Winn.

Ruth found work at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas and a few years later married Earl L. Richardson and with this union acquired two stepchildren; Earline, Bobby, and birthed three children; Delvin Wayne, Kenneth, and Sandra Kay. Later they divorced. In years after, through her union with Alfred Earl Martin, she birthed Tamika LaShawn.

Ruth became a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church and raised her children under guidance of Pastor Floyd D. Harris. She was a longtime Usher and remained a member of the church until her health declined.

Ruth was a very loving, caring, and talkative individual and one would find it difficult not to befriend her. In her company, subtle pleasantries were found. She worked for McDonald's for many years and after her retirement, retained a 30-year friendship with most of her coworkers.

On March 1, 2022, Angels presented her to our Heavenly Father. She is joining her grandparents, parents, brother, and sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, Earl L. Richardson, Linda (daughter), Delvin (son) Bobby (stepson), and Alfred Earl Martin. She joins them in Glory and put on her Crown.

She leaves to cherish in her memory Kenneth & Norma Richardson (son & daughter-in-law) of Plano, TX; Sandra Williams (daughter) of DeSoto, TX; Tamika Richardson (daughter) of Duncanville, TX; Earline Keys (stepdaughter) of Waco, TX; and many other relatives Floyd Clark, George Nickerson Jr. (Amelia), Azelia Brown, Sharon Nickerson, Peyton Moore (Louise), Jerline Grovenberg all of Houston, TX; friend of sixty years Pearlie Martin; Eleven Grandchildren; Bryan (Diamond) Sanders, Jason Keys, Kennisha Richardson, Gerry (LaArtis) Williams, Kristina Richardson, Ke'Nesha Kennedy, Nyree Williams, Anetrice Scisney, Phillip Scisney, Aliaha Scisney, Joshua Richardson, Markayla Lee, Reba Givens (James), Kevin Robinson Sr. (Ciana), and Corey Robinson (Deniecsa); Eight Greatgrandchildren; Carnelius Lawton, Geremiah Lawton, Devon Richardson, Brooklyn Sanders, Kennedy Sanders, Julius Williams, Terri Sanders, Skylar Sanders; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
