Ruth worked for many years before retiring in 2002. In her past time, she enjoyed baking, cooking, puzzles, and doing what she describes as what she did best, which was "nothing".
Ruth departed this life on March 20, 2018 and was preceded in death by her grandmother, mother, and brothers. She is survived by her son Eric; her niece Sylvia (Robert); her nephew Alvin Jr.; her great nieces Jasmine, Arielle, and Jana; her great-great niece Ma'Kinley and a host of family and friends.
Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what's to be,
a resting place along the road to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys, different paths along the way,
we all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay.
Our destination is a place far greater than we know,
for some, the journey's quicker, for some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends, we'll claim a great reward,
and find an everlasting peace, together with the Lord.
