Obituary

Royal Nelson, Sr. was born on January 9, 1937 in Dallas, Texas to Matthew and Ola Nelson.  He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955 and he served active duty in the US Navy where he retired as a Vietnam veteran. Following his military retirement, he became employed by the United States Postal Service where he worked until his second retirement. He married Peakola Wooten on July 30, 1971.  Royal and Peakola had two children, Trent and Trevena. He also had two children from a previous marriage, Royal Jr. and Kenneth.  He was an active member of Beckley Heights Church of Christ where he will be missed dearly.
