Dr. Reverend Roy Jones, Sr was born on April 24, 1948, in Marshall Texas to parents Bishop Milton and Bernice Jones. Dr. Jones was a graduate of Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Dallas, where he was awarded a Cadet decoration, Arts honor and Academic Achievement honors, and he was also a stellar track star.Reverend Jones received a bachelor's degree in business management from Arlington University in 1972. He served his country (the United States of America)during the Vietnam War from 1968-1971 and was Honorably discharged as an E-5 Sergeant of Arms. He was awarded the PURPLE HEART Honorable Decoration for Bravery in Action.In 1987, Reverend Jones was ordained as minister by the Churches of Deliverance Revival Tabernacle. Dr. Reverend Roy Jones Sr. received his Doctoral Degree of PhD in Physiology, Sociology and Theology in 1994. And, was ordained and appointed Pastor to Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Seagoville Texas by the Churches of God in Christ, Inc. in 1990. He later founded and pastored New Life Cathedral Family Church in Dallas Texas.Dr. Reverend Roy Jones, Sr. was ordained by the Full Gospel Holiness Churches Inc in 2005; where he served as a member, Minister, Evangelist, etc. until his death.He is preceded in death by his father, Bishop Milton Jones, mother, Missionary Bernice Jones, brother Ivan Jones and sister Inez Jones.He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife of 37 years (Dianna Jones), three daughters and two sons, Elisabeth Jones, LaTanya Alexander (Edward), Leomia Anderson (Joshua), Roy Milton Jones, Jr, and Ezekiel Jones; six Grandchildren; Xavier Walker, Donovan Walker, Jamie Jones, Alayna Anderson, Asher Chambers, and James Royce Anderson. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Jeanette Andrews (Spencer), nine brothers: Elton (Shelia), David (Sarah), Fredrick (Jacqueline), Timothy (Ruby), James (Monique), Benjamin, Eric (Eunese), Michael, and Paul (MarShawn), four sister in-laws: Patricia, Ramona, Naomi, and Doborah, six brother in-laws, Godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and sons and daughters in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
