Rosetta "Rose" Washington Boyd was born December 27, 1947, to the late Rupert and Laurice Washington in Kilgore, Texas. She was the youngest of sixth children.

Rose accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Word of Truth Tabernacle Church in Kilgore, Texas. She attended North Chapel High School, followed by working for many years in the hospitality industry. Although Rose spent the majority of her life in Kilgore, TX, she resided with her daughter for the past 13+ years in Rowlett, Texas.

She loved spending time with family, watching television that included her favorite movies, games shows, and sports. She especially enjoyed cheering for her Dallas Mavericks.

Rose was preceded by her parents, siblings, Donnie Gail Washington, Robert Washington, and Elouise Jordan. Loving nieces Sheila Washington and Margaret Washington.

Rose will be deeply missed by her children: Daughter, Sonja Boyd-Sackor (Mo), Rowlett, TX; Son, Charles Boyd (Shawn), Fort Worth, TX. Grandchildren: Brittany Dilworth, Dallas, TX, Rashae Williams (Nick), Brooke Boyd of Fort Worth, TX. Great-granddaughter: Skyy Jewel Walker, Dallas, TX. Sister, Helen Franklin, Kilgore, TX. Brother, John T. Washington, Longview, TX; along with a host of nieces and nephews. Special Goddaughter, Kiersten "Missy" Hughes, Dallas, TX.
