Rosalyn, the loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, auntie and friend was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana on December 30, 1954 to Mr. Herbert W. Grant and Mrs. Eddye Mae (Grant) Love. Rosalyn's biological father preceded her in death when she was only 18 months of age. She fought her battle on August 28, 2012, God decided to call her home. As an eagle, she took wings and departed her life on this earth at the age of 57.
Rosalyn's death has impacted many lives in so many ways; yet, her memories live on. She often reminisced about the times spent with family and friends at Grace Temple Church of God in Christ. Her grandfather, Reverend Eddie Beauford, built this church in Paris, Texas, which he pastored. Grace Temple is where Rosalyn accepted Christ as her personal Savior and remained until she united with Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.
On April 22, 1972, Rosalyn married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, R.T. Johnson. From that union, two beautiful daughters were born: Paula and Demetria. Rosalyn demonstrated unconditional love towards her daughters. Rosalyn protected, cared, nourished and sacrificed many things in order to give her daughters the best. Wow, what a mother! Both Paula and Demetria will forever embrace the comfort of knowing whenever they needed anything, their loving mother was always there; only a dial tone and a phone call away.
She leaves behind husband, R.T. Johnson; daughters, Paula Johnson and Demetria (MacArthur) Cheatham; mother, Eddye Mae Love and a host other relatives and friends.
The homegoing celebration will commence on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 11:00am at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend Curtis W. Wallace, Pastor, will bring the Message of Hope and Celebration.
