Obituary

Rosalind Bowens-Gates, 48, passed away on May 1, 2021 at City Hospital at White Rock.
She was born on November 24, 1972 in Dallas, TX, the daughter of Hampton and Rose Bowens.
Rosalind graduated from Skyline High School, class of 1990.  Following graduation, she attended Eastfield Community College and Texas Woman's University, graduating in 1994 with a degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice.
She worked for the Garland Police Department, then served as an Education Director for the Boys and Girls Club in West Dallas.  Her final place of employment was as a detention officer with the Richardson Police Department.
In addition to her husband, Mark Gates, she is survived by her parents, Hampton and Rose Bowens; sister, Gloria Bowens Uddley; brother, David Bowens, his wife, Jorien; and three nephews, Kevin Hicks, Joshua Bowens and Joseph Bowens.
