Roosevelt Curl Jr. was born to Roosevelt Curl Sr. and Margaret Douglas Curl June 23, 1942.
Roosevelt, affectionately known as Tony, received his elementary education in Melrose, Texas in Nacogdoches County, and high school in Houston, Texas. After serving two tours in the United States Army that resulted in an honorable discharge he moved to Dallas, Texas. He worked as a glazier for Binswanger Glass for a number of years until he changed careers. Inspired to work for himself and gifted with his hands, he started his own business as a stonemasonry, Roosevelt Curl Stone Work, where he worked and enjoyed all the benefits until he retired. His work was known and sought after by many of the major pool companies and was featured in Dallas Magazine.
Roosevelt enjoyed his family and friends and in his retirement talked with them daily when his health permitted. The joy of his life was his daughter and grandchildren.
Roosevelt transitioned into Perfect Peace on Friday, November 24, 2017 and was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Curl Sr., and brother, Bobby J. Curl.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Margaret Curl of Dallas, daughter, Deidra Allen (Karlus) of Houston, grand daughter, Zoelle Allen, grandson, Zion Allen of Houston, sister Margaret Gbenjen of Dallas, a very devoted friend Glenda Johnson of Dallas, devoted sister- in-law, Janet Curl of North Carolina, nieces Bridget Curl of Plano, Barbara Laster of Carrollton, and Simone Gbenjen Dallas, nephews Quincy and Kelton Curl of Dallas and a host of relatives.
