Obituary

Ronnie Renard Wright was born on August 12, 1949, in Dallas Texas, to the proud parents of Thomas E. Wright, Sr, and Virdel Wright. He accepted Christ at an early age at Greater Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Ronnie began his education in the Dallas school system at Albert Sidney Johnson Elementary and later attended Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School from 1964 to 1966 where he played football and made varsity as a freshman. Ronnie then relocated to Palestine, Texas where he attended and graduated from Alonzo Marion Story High School in 1967.

Ronnie went on to serve our country and joined the Marine Corps, where he met and married Ann Cline, and to this union two children Shannon D. Wright and Twiggie P. Wright were born. Later in his life he moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where he was an proud entrepreneur and business owner of a semi-truck washing service company. He later retired after many successful years with the business. It brought him great joy to serve his community in the capacity in which he did.

Ronnie was a fun and loving guy. Some of his hobbies included: playing Dominoes and cards, as well as watching sports especially football, watching movies and taking care of his fish tank, but his greatest joy was spending time with family and extended family.

Ronnie Renard Wright departed this earthly life on August 6, 2024, to be with the Lord. He is preceded in death by his father- Thomas E. Wright Sr, his brother- Thomas E. Wright Jr, his sister- Gwendolyn Wright Sanders, his uncle- Brown Robertson, his brother- James Earl Elliot, and his bonus son Derrick Rucker.

He also leaves to cherish his beautiful memories and will be truly missed by; his mother- Virdel Wright, son- Shannon D. Wright, Daughter- Twiggie P. Wright, sister- Sherry Wright, 6 bonus children- Michael, Cedric, Derrick, Lekisha, Krista and Russel. Aunts- Eddie Mae Williams and Betty Robertson. Twelve grandchildren, many great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, beloved extended family and a cherished granddaughter Mo Williams.
