Ronnie “Ron D” Miller was born on January 14, 1967, in Dallas, Texas, to Earlie B. and Minnie Lee Miller. The third of five children, he was raised in a home grounded in family, love, faith, and strong values. Ronnie accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. From an early age, Ronnie displayed the warm and outgoing personality that would become one of his greatest gifts. He had a special way of making everyone feel seen, welcomed, and valued. Ronnie was a proud graduate of Wilmer-Hutchins High School, home of the Mighty Eagles, Class of 1985. He excelled both academically and athletically, and his love for sports remained an important part of his life. Whether playing, watching, coaching, or cheering from the sidelines, Ronnie found great joy in the excitement, camaraderie, and connections sports created. Ronnie met the love of his life, Mary A. Miller, and the two were united in marriage on August 9, 2019. He was a devoted husband and a proud father to his daughter, Jelisha Nicole Wright Miller. He also cherished his roles as a son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Family held a special place in Ronnie’s heart, and he expressed his love through his presence, humor, encouragement, and unwavering support. Throughout his career, Ronnie was employed by Beaver Transportation. He later proudly served as a crossing guard for the Dallas Independent School District. The children affectionately called him “Mr. Cheeseburger,” a nickname that reflected his fun-loving spirit and the meaningful connection he shared with them. Ronnie never met a stranger and could brighten any room with his infectious personality, quick wit, and unforgettable sense of humor. Ronnie’s passion for football led him to become a coach with the Pleasant Grove Trojans. For Ronnie, coaching was about far more than the game itself. It was an opportunity to mentor, encourage, guide, and invest in the lives of the young people he loved so dearly. He proudly traveled with his players to Florida nearly every season to compete at the national level. Ronnie possessed a remarkable gift for building relationships and leaving people better than he found them. His influence extended far beyond the football field. Through his kindness, humor, wisdom, and willingness to show up for others, he became a source of strength and encouragement to many. The lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he so freely gave will continue to live in the hearts and lives of everyone he touched. Ronnie was preceded in death by his twin brother, Donnie, who passed away during infancy; his son, Ronnie Jr.; maternal grandparents, Robert and Martha King; paternal grandparents, George and Charsie Miller; beloved aunts, Bonnie and Faye; uncles, Ray, George Jr., and Willie Ray; and cousins, Padrick and Cedrick. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving wife, Mary A. Miller; daughter, Jelisha Nicole Wright Miller; parents, Earlie B. and Minnie Lee Miller; siblings, LaNora J. Ferguson, Kendrick Miller (Lonnie), and Kimberly Miller-Ates (Edward); grandchildren, Tashanti Ridley and Devarious Wright; bonus children, Mitchell Caraway (Tamesha) and Eric Morgan; bonus grandchildren, Messiah, Eric Jr., Kentrell, Taylah, and Betrez; and nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, including Malcolm, Kendrick Jr. (Nonie), Kyra, Zachary, Ayden, Royalty, Alaya, Kendrix, Kru Avery, and Kai’Lani. He also leaves his favorite uncle, Melvin (Mary); uncles, Wayne and James; aunts, Mary Ann and Georgia Ruth; and a host of extended family members and special lifelong friends. Although his earthly journey has come to an end, Ronnie “Ron D” Miller will forever be remembered for how deeply he loved, how boldly he lived, and how he never hesitated to show up for the people who mattered most to him.
