Ronald Charles
Patterson
April 21, 1954 – June 14, 2021
Ronald Charles Patterson, known to most as Ron, was born on April 21, 1954, in Philadelphia, PA. Growing up, his household was a mecca for jazz at the direction of his father, John Richard Patterson, which led to his passion for the music. He often said if he wasn't listening to jazz, he just wasn't himself. Like his father, Ron proved to be a man of music, food, and action. He was an excellent cook who boasted to have an exquisite palette, not just tastebuds. Some of his most applauded dishes included his signature crab stuffing, macaroni and cheese, and Cornish hens. Ron was a philosophical soul with an intellectual mindset. He was an artist in his own right who loved poetry and photography. Ron was opinionated and honest about his thoughts and feelings on life, yet he was a man with a hard exterior covering a very dynamic interior.
After high school, Ron enlisted in the US Air Force before being honorably discharged. He returned to the Philadelphia area to establish a life for himself and start a family. After a period of time, he decided to relocate to Texas to increase the possibilities of enhancing his career and improving life for his then-wife, Angie Hargrove, and son, Jazz. The southern mindset proved to be a shock to his psyche, but Ron persevered. He managed to establish a very long and successful career at the DFW International Airport as a supervisor in the maintenance arena.
Ron is proceeded in death by the following: father, John R. Patterson; mother, Myrtle Maxwell; sister, Roberta Patterson; and long-time partner, Rhonda Young.
Ron leaves the following to cherish his memory: son, Jazz; daughter, Danielle; sister, Barbara Denkins; brother, George (Daphne) Campbell; brother, Warren (Autna) Campbell; brother, Richard Patterson; and a host of family and friends.
