Obituary

Rodney Wilfred Rucker was born October 6,1956 in Ft-Sill Oklahoma to Willie W. Rucker and the late Bernice Mary Rucker. Rodney graduated from East High School in Denver, Colorado in 1974. He enlisted in the US Army in September of 1974 and was a Vietnam era veteran who served for eight years. Rodney's duty stations included South Korea Germany, Fort Drum, New York.(10th Mountain Division). and HAWAII ( Schofield Barracks, 25TH infantry Division). He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal, 2nd Award and the Army Achievement Medal. After serving in the military, Rodney attended Community College in Denver and later entered the field of Public Transportation where he served as Director of Operations-South Region with The Apple Bus Company based in Austin, Texas. His greatest pleasure was spending time with family and friends.
Rodney was preceded in death by his mother Bernice Mary Rucker,. He leaves to cherish his memories his son; Lil Rodney(Renee) , father; Willie W. Rucker Jr. brothers; Vernon Clyde ( Jessica ), and Patrick, sisters; Debra and Candance (Tony), three grandchildren Amadi (15) Amya (10) Joei (6); eight nephews, two niece and a host of relatives and friends.
