Obituary

Rodney Kevin Brooks, 58, of Dallas Texas, entered into God's kingdom on Sep 9th, 2023. He was born August 7th, 1965 to Bishop John Lee Brooks and Mary Evelyn Brooks.

Before graduation from Franklin D. Roosevelt Highschool Class of 1983, he joined the JROTC. Aside from JROTC in his spare time he would plant flowers for his mother & worked alongside his brothers doing skilled handyman labor jobs.

In his young adult years Rodney would meet the apple of his eye, the jewel of his heart & love of his life in Downtown Dallas, the woman who would stand by his side through thick and thin, hardship & joy, his radiant wife Tanya Edmond Brooks where they are reunited in heaven. He will be greatly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts & minds. His strong bloodline lives on & his work ethic, teachings, nicknames, Dad jokes, character traits & words of wisdom will never fade. We know that we will meet again on another plain as this is only a stepping off point for his respective journey.

Aside from this he was a servant leader to his community, an active member of the church at New Comforter, a landscaper, workaholic, Jack Of all Trades, Country Burger Cook, Equestrian and Above all else a praying God Fearing Man.

He enjoyed fishing, playing domino's, cards games, watching his beloved New England Patriots, playing catch, shooting pool , dancing , cinema family nights & most importantly jamming too old school artists like the Isley brothers, The Gap Band, The Temptations, Chaka Khan, MJ & many more with his siblings, sons / daughter & wife.

Rodney, the most loving and devoted husband, father, uncle, grandfather & brother. is survived by sons Zachary (Walnika), Rudolph, and Javonte as well as step daughter Morney ; grandsons (Zion) (Zachary Jr.) (Zaire) and Granddaughter (Za'riyann) step grandson (JaMarcus)
along with siblings Vincent, Darryl, Tammy & John Lee Brooks Jr. (Preceded in Death).
