Born September 24,1944 to the parentage of Marwill James Edwards in Marshall, Texas and became a Christian early in his life.
Robert received his former education in the Tyler, Texas ISD system and finished his education at Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas.He received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Air force Police Squadron. He was formerly employed by the Los Angeles Transit Authority and became counselor for people with drug addictions. He spent his leisure time reading, and playing chess at the Los Angeles chess club and chess parks.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Eunice Mapps Edwards, Father Marwill James Edwards Sr., Brother Arthur Ray Edwards, Ronnie Paul Edwards, David Lee Edwards and Johnny Howard Edwards.
Robert was the father of three children, Kenyata was born in his first marriage to Janice, Sharon's second marriage Damon was born, Manuel was born third marriage to Amparo. He was preceded in death by his Mother Eunice Mapps Edwards, Father Marwill James Edwards Sr. Brother Arthur Ray Edwards, Ronnie Paul Edwards, David Lee Edwards and Johnny Howard Edwards, and one Son Kenyata.
He leaves to cherish his memories his Son Damond Edwards of Victorville, California and Manuel Salador Edwards of Oxnard, California and one special stepson Omar Rojas. One brother Marwill James Edwards of Tyler, Texas, sisters: Eyvern Edwards of Dallas, Texas, Shirley Edwards-Brown and special grandniece Ra'janee McNeal and a hos of special nieces and nephews with a host of extended relatives.
Robert was an avid reader of non-fiction books, Loved fishing, golf and playing chess. He achieved his International master Rating in Chess and enjoyed displaying his skills as a fluent Spanish speaker. He enjoyed playing chess with his grandnephew Devin. His humorous and lighthearted personality will be missed.
