Robert Doyle Coy was greeted by God on February 1, 2025, in Lancaster, Texas. He was a loving, caring, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who treasured his family, faith, and friends. He was a very sociable and helpful man who never met a stranger. He thrived on being helpful to others and would go out of his way to help people in any manner that he could. He took pride in maintaining special relationships with his family, friends, and neighbors.
Robert was born on September 16, 1945, in Red Oak, Texas to the parentage of Jasper and Sophie Coy. He received his formal education in Ferris ISD. After graduating from Dunbar High School, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. Robert accepted Christ at Ferris St. Church of Christ where he served for many years.
On August 23, 1969, he married his totally rare "Pearl" beyond compare, Pearlie Mae Taylor. Together, they raised two beautiful children, Angela and Stephen. Pearl encouraged his entrepreneurial spirit and together, they built Rapid Production and Service, a successful steel rule die company. Robert remained devoted to Pearlie until her passing in 2007.
Later in life, he found love again with Patricia Proctor, whom he married on June 17, 2011. Patricia brought three adult children to the family. Patricia and Robert were faithful members of the Ferris St. Church of Christ and Cliffview Church of Christ. Robert and Patricia enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Robert loved fishing and would fish in any creek he could find. He was also a skilled technician that could fix anything, whether it was a household item, car, or something more complicated, he was up for the challenge. He was truly a resourceful and practical man who cared deeply for his family, friends, and neighbors.
His memory will be forever cherished by all those who knew and loved him. A special thank you is extended to Bedford and Felicia Mathis, the Terry family, the Richardson family, and Cliffview Church of Christ for the love, care, prayers, and nurture they provided to our beloved Robert Doyle Coy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Sophie Coy and his first wife, Pearlie Taylor Coy. He is survived by his current wife, Patricia Coy, children, Erica Thomas, Angela Coy, Stephen Coy, and grandson, Christopher Coy, Stepchildren, Anthony and Brittney Proctor, Marcus Proctor, LaShannon Proctor, step grandchildren, Sarina Proctor, Mariah Proctor, Jaterius Proctor, Irish Julians, and Anthony Proctor, Jr., Robert's brother, Nathaniel (Betty Jo), sister, Maggie Pearl Coleman, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and special friends.
